Materials
Chosen for reasons we can say out loud.
Every surface in a Summerland home earns its place. This is the walk through the ones we reach for most, and why.

Hardwood
Spotted gum and oak, set where hands and feet will find them every day. A stair should be warm under a bare foot, and a handrail should feel like it was shaped for the palm that lands on it.

Stone & benchtops
Sandstone and marble, laid where the light can get at them. Stone carries the afternoon across a room, and it keeps the mark of the making in its grain.

Cabinetry & joinery
Doors and drawers that close the way they should: softly, squarely, and for years. Timber fronts run in matched grain, and every pull sits where a reaching hand expects to find it.

- Custom joinery in spotted gum & oak

- Laminex · Polytec

The kitchen's working parts
The bench where the cooking happens. Heat, water and steel chosen to be worked hard, morning after morning, and to wipe back to clean without complaint.
- Premium
- Miele
- Essentials
- Bosch · Westinghouse

Bathrooms & tapware
Brushed metal set against stone, plumbed to run quietly and land warm. A tap is touched more often than anything else in the house, so it has to feel certain under the hand, and keep feeling that way.

- Highgrove
- Essentials
- Caroma

The work you will never see
Waterproofing carried floor to ceiling in every bathroom. Fixings that will never be admired, done properly anyway. The joint that lines up because someone cared that it would.

Wool, linen and the garden beyond
Wool underfoot in the rooms where the day ends, linen at the glass to let the morning arrive gently. Outside, sandstone and eucalyptus hold the line between the house and the street it belongs to.
